Nancy Houseworth
(Right) 100 years old. Nancy (Kent) Houseworth, a lifelong Lutheran, made quilts for expectant mothers and enjoyed bridge, bowling, dancing, and golf—earning a hole-in-one. She lived in six states before Oklahoma and grew up during the Great Depression. Her advice: “Arrive neatly dressed—you only get one chance to make a first impression.”

Elda Pester
(Left) 100 years old. Elda Pester of Tulsa has a large family of grandchildren, great-, and great-great-grandchildren. She retired from Ken Sasser Draperies in 1990 and was active in Methodist churches, Eastern Star, and Meals on Wheels. Thanksgiving is her favorite holiday. Her advice: “Smile, be nice, work hard, and don’t drink or smoke.”

Bill Mauch
(Right) 100 years old. Bill Mauch celebrated his 100th birthday with lots of family and friends. A lifelong resident of Sapulpa, he only lived elsewhere while serving with the Marines during World War II. He spent 33 years at McDonnell Douglas, working on Skylab and contributing during the Cuban Missile Crisis. His hobbies included woodcrafts, fishing, and sports. His advice: “Remember God is a Spirit, and we should worship Him in Spirit and Truth.”

Irene Bond
(Right) 100 years old. Irene Bond was all smiles as she celebrated 100 years young this past Friday. Surrounded by friends and family, she glowed with enthusiasm as she received her official Centenarians of Oklahoma certificate and the special Golden Okie pin. Married an astounding 82 years before her husband’s passing, Irene is the epitome of a gracious lady.
