Kari Moroz is a passionate life coach, speaker, author and podcast co-host of In Joy the Show, dedicated to helping others live with purpose and resilience. A 20-year breast cancer thriver, Kari’s journey has shaped her mission to inspire and empower those facing life’s toughest challenges. As a devoted wife and mom, she understands the delicate balance of family, health, and personal growth, using her experiences to guide others towards fulfillment. Through her coaching, writing and speaking, Kari shares her wisdom and encouragement, proving that thriving, not just surviving is possible for everyone.
“If I were to complain of a toothache, the natural expectation would be for me to visit a dentist, an expert who can asses the issue, give solid advice, provide treatment, and offer guidance on maintaining my oral health in the future. In the same way, a coach can help bring clarity to my thoughts, control my perspective, and support me in achieving my goals. Yet, while seeking professional help, there remains an unnecessary stigma around seeking expert guidance for navigating life’s challenges. The reality is quite the opposite, it takes monumental courage and self awareness to reach out for support, recognizing that growth and success are rarely achieved in isolation,” Kari explained.
Coaches often choose their niches from experience, so not only have they trained in special techniques of life navigation, but they can also bring a level of empathy and compassion that elevates a client’s experience beyond just friendly advice or a a list of to-dos. This could definitely be said for the coaching style of Kari Moroz.
Kari was just 29 years old when she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Only six years into her marriage and a new mom, Kari desperately sought support. In spite of having so many encouraging and supportive people around her, It was the loneliness Kari recalls most. “No one in the infusion room was close to my age. All this time, I heard, ‘but you are so young!” And I was but that’s not why I was lonely. I knew I had to face this challenge alone, and that’s scary regardless of age. One moment I felt I could see my whole life ahead of me, and making plans as my family would grow. The doctor walked in, and in seconds, everything changed. Any certainty for the future crumbled as I had to re-think and re-plan. I needed someone to help me put it all back to perspective, to pick up the pieces, and say, “I did this, here’s what I learned, and you can do it too.” Regardless of age, strength, personality, or faith each of my clients deserve that.”
It was early in diagnosis that Kari promised if God let her live, she would help other women. She finds joy and fulfillment in coaching women undergoing breast cancer treatments, but her fulfilled promise doesn’t stop with the breast care community. An avid writer and lover of journaling, she recently published, ‘Me. Myself & One Month: Self-Love, originally a stand-alone 30-day guided journal. Written for every woman of any age in any circumstance, who is ready to accept and embrace herself fully, with no shame, guilt or embarrassment. “I don’t know one woman who couldn’t benefit from having more self love and confidence in their everyday life, and this journal gently instills that, in about 10 minutes a day. I have taught these techniques in my journal for years. It’s exciting to lead women in journal form, on their own terms and when they’re ready,” Kari commented.
Recently, Kari partnered with fellow life coach in the OKC community, Blythe Donovan, for a unexpected new adventure-In Joy the Show podcast. Focused on resilience through adversity, the show’s casual, compassionate conversations create a welcoming space that draws listeners in with interest and inspiration. Fresh 30-minute episodes every Thursday offer a weekly dose of wit, wisdom and joy. It’s no surprise In Joy the Show is quickly gaining traction among those seeking encouragement. “If we can reach just one woman, reminding her she’s worth fighting for and she’s not alone, our purpose will be fulfilled.”
While not writing, Kari, has taken the stage at various events that inspire and uplift, including fundraisers, galas, and book launches, even on cruise ships. “It’s humbling and thrilling to deliver a powerful message, full of hope and to connect to an audience that needs my message. I’m grateful to experience life in such an extraordinary way, while helping others realize their extraordinary lives as well,” Kari commented.
